If you have a horse with sensitive, itchy or easily irritated skin, you’ll know how frustrating it can be to find the right care. You can spend hours searching for products, reading labels and trying one thing after another, hoping you’ve found something that will help. And when it doesn’t, you’re back to searching again.

I know that frustration. I have an itchy horse myself, as do friends and family, and everywhere I go I seem to meet horses whose owners are trying to navigate similar challenges. It made me question whether we could approach everyday equine care differently, with more consideration for the horse’s skin, and more transparency for the person choosing the product.

Horses have always been part of my life. Three generations of my family have shared their lives with these extraordinary animals, and caring for them has always been something I take seriously. My background in natural skincare gave me another perspective: I understood how much thought goes into choosing ingredients for products used on our own skin, and how important it is to understand what those ingredients are, why they have been chosen and what they are intended to do.

I wanted to bring that same level of consideration into equine care.

Solcotta creates skin-first equine care that is formulated with purpose.
